New Moon (marketed as The Twilight Saga: New Moon) is a 2009 American romantic fantasy film. It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer and is the sequel to 2008's Twilight, which is based on Meyer's previous novel. Summit Entertainment greenlit the sequel in late November 2008, following the early success of Twilight. Directed by Chris Weitz, the film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg, who handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend of Twilight, returns as the screenwriter for the second installment as well.

The film was released on November 20, 2009 in the United States and Canada, and set domestic box office records as the biggest midnight screening and opening day in history when it grossed an estimated $72.7 million in its first day of release.

Twilight : New Moon - Official Trailer

New Moon is the second installment of the Twilight movie series and releases in Dubai and UAE on 26 of November, just a few days after making it’s US premiere. In this sequel, the romance between moral and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become party of–only to find herself in greater peril than before.

UAE vampire fans are set to be among the first to get their teeth into New Moon, the much anticipated next instalment of the popular Twilight series.

Starting with New Moon, SwissOpenAir Cinema will take place at the Media City Amphitheatre, and run every night from November 26 – 7 December, with doors opening at 7pm for dinner and drinks, and will run into the night with special entertainment and DJ.
